Detention Center Release Paths
The Humboldt County Sheriff's Office runs the adult county jail. It holds pretrial detainees, people serving local terms, and people awaiting transfer. A bond, dismissal, court release, time served, or completion of a local sentence can lead to community release. Probation may begin under a court order without an NDOC prison stay.
Transfer is different. A person can leave the building for NDOC, another county, a federal agency, or immigration custody. The Sheriff's release disposition and receiving-agency field distinguish those outcomes. “Not in the jail” never means “free in the community” by itself.
| Recorded outcome | Next verification |
|---|---|
| Bond or court order | Sheriff exit timestamp plus Justice or District Court order |
| Local sentence complete | Sheriff release record and sentencing file |
| NDOC transfer | NDOC Offender ID and statewide search |
| Other agency transfer | Receiving agency record |
Confirm Detention Center Release
No functioning Humboldt jail roster or release feed was found. The current Detention Division page provides contact details. It does not publish a last-24-hour or last-72-hour list.
- Call 775-623-6423 and ask whether the person remains in custody or has a releasable exit disposition.
- Request the booked name, booking number, admission and release date/time, release type, and receiving agency for the exact episode.
- Check Union Township Justice Court for misdemeanor or early felony orders. Check Sixth Judicial District Court after felony bind-over.
- If transferred, open the correct receiving system. Use NDOC for state custody, BOP for federal prison, or ICE ODLS for recent immigration custody.
- Resolve conflicts with an official record from the agency that created the disputed fact.
The full Humboldt released-inmate search compares these county, state, and federal paths.
Detention Center Records Contact
Ask for the booking and custody record, not merely a current-status answer. Include full name, aliases, birth date, booking date range, and case or booking number. Nevada Chapter 239 governs access, subject to exemptions. Ask for inspection or electronic delivery and a fee estimate.

Call to confirm records routing and hours
The Sheriff's online Form Center is for statements and tips, not a public-record request form. A written request should seek the exact release date and time, disposition, and receiving agency.
Humboldt Adult Jail Role
This is a county jail, not an NDOC prison. Its custody record answers when the local jail episode ended. NDOC answers whether state custody or parole followed. The court file explains the legal reason for bond, dismissal, sentence, probation, or transfer.
Humboldt County's old inmate-search route now lands on the general Sheriff page, while a county FAQ still refers to online booking information. The current navigation and sitemap show no working roster. That mismatch makes direct contact and a precise request essential.
Detention Release Record Fields
Because no public schema exists, these are fields to request, not claims about an online list.
- Booked name, aliases, and booking number
- Admission and exact release date and time
- Release type or disposition
- Court and case number
- Charges and bond data when releasable
- Receiving agency or destination
An order authorizing release can precede the actual exit. Use the jail timestamp to prove processing ended.
The official detention contact page shows the working local route:

Humboldt Court Release Evidence
Union Township Justice Court handles misdemeanor cases and felony or gross-misdemeanor matters through the preliminary-hearing stage. Its docket can show bail, an initial release order, a dismissal, or the legal steps that sent a felony onward. Bound-over felony cases continue in Sixth Judicial District Court. The District Court provides weekly calendars, but those calendars are not a full public name index. The County Clerk is the durable court-record route.
Court evidence explains authority. It does not prove the moment the person passed out of jail control. A judge may authorize release before staff finish processing, resolve another hold, or arrange transfer. Preserve both records: the court order for the legal reason and the Sheriff timestamp for the physical exit.
If a sentence ends with probation, use the court order and Nevada State Police Parole and Probation to confirm supervision. If the jail entry says transfer to NDOC, switch to the statewide offender search. These distinct records prevent a transfer from being mislabeled as community release.
Humboldt Release Status Differences
A live jail status, a release record, and a notification alert serve different purposes. Current-custody data answers whether the person is shown in the jail now. The booking and release record documents the completed county episode. Nevada S.A.V.E. may send a registered notice, but its public result can omit a person after release and is not the Sheriff's official archive.
For a state transfer, NDOC may show an institution, sentence rows, parole data, or an inactive discharge status. For federal prison, the BOP locator may show “Released” or “Not in BOP Custody” with a date. ICE ODLS covers current detainees and recent releases within its limited window. No result in one system settles status in another.
Request Humboldt Jail Records
A precise Chapter 239 request should identify one custody episode. Give the booked name, aliases, date of birth, booking date range, booking or case number, and arresting agency when known. Ask for admission and release timestamps, movement history, disposition, receiving agency, bond data, and any later correction. The county does not publish its database schema, so these are request targets rather than claims about fields on a hidden roster.
Nevada law gives the office five business days to respond. The response can provide the record, identify where it is available, cite the basis for withholding it, or state when it expects production. Ask for inspection or electronic delivery and a fee estimate. The Sheriff's Form Center does not contain a public-record request form, so confirm the submission route with the office.
Request the booking photograph separately if needed. Humboldt confirms that booking creates a photo, while the fee schedule lists photographs and documents on CD or USB. Disclosure remains case-specific. A valid Chapter 179 sealing order changes access and must be honored.
Humboldt Local Sentence Credits
A locally sentenced person may earn county-jail credit under NRS 211.320. The statute allows up to five days per month for compliant conduct and graduated work credits based on the length of the term. Partial months are prorated, and credits can be forfeited after due process. These are maximum statutory allowances, not proof that the Detention Center awarded every possible day.
Ask the jail for its actual calculation and compare it with the sentencing judgment. A pretrial detainee generally has no sentence-expiration date. For that person, the key evidence is a bond or release order and the later jail exit timestamp. If a detainer or receiving agency intervenes, the local hold may end while custody continues elsewhere.
A projected date can change through a corrected judgment, credit award or loss, concurrent or consecutive sentence issues, or a new hold. The final release record is stronger than a hand calculation.
Humboldt Release Verification Timeline
Build a short timeline when several records appear to disagree. Start with the admission timestamp and booking number. Add the first court appearance, bond or detention order, later disposition, and any amended judgment. Then place the Sheriff's exact release time beside the recorded release type and receiving agency.
If the person moved to NDOC, add the first state booking or institution entry. If parole or probation followed, add the Board action or court order and NPP confirmation. For a federal or immigration transfer, record the county exit separately from the receiving system's event. This method preserves the difference between an authority to release, completed jail processing, and custody that continues somewhere else.
Corrections can arrive later. Ask whether the Sheriff or court amended a field, and keep the newest official response with the date obtained. A screenshot of a transient portal is less durable than the source record tied to the booking or case.
The same timeline helps with bond questions. A Justice Court order can show when release became legally possible, while jail staff may still need to verify payment, process records, or resolve another hold. Research supports a 48-hour probable-cause and bail hearing path, but it does not establish a standard Humboldt processing delay. Do not invent one.
For a weekend range, request exact start and end times. Humboldt County publishes no verified 24-hour, 48-hour, or 72-hour feed, cadence, retention period, or photo flag. A time-bounded records request is the only sound way to reconstruct the county jail releases for that interval.
